Chris Anderson - died 2001  Chris dedicated his high school activities to the drama department. As Stage Manager, he was in charge of all activities that happened on the state.  He is missed by all. 


Darla Barnett fought a long and hard battle with cancer.  She left us way too early.  She was a joy to know and be around.

Patty Davy---died 2002
Patty lost her battle to cancer.  She will truly be missed by her classmates.  She was accepted by AFS in 1969 to live in New Zealand.  In New Zealand Patty attended Pakaranga College for three terms.  She returned to graduate with her class in 1969.  

Pete Cummins--- died 2005.  Pete attended CHS for a few years and left after his father was transferred back to Virginia.  He returned to Coronado where he lived and worked as a chef at Tent City.  Pete passed away after fighting a long battle with cancer. 

Rusty Dean died many years ago from a brown recluse spider.

Dick Hopfinger---died 1978

Rebecca Hurley---died 1977
Becky Hurley was a fun spirited lovely woman.  She participated in many school activities and was always a friend to everyone.  She fought a hard battle with cancer and unfortunately cancer won.  She is missed. 

Jim Lish--Jims' friends tell us that Jim was a very giving person and was always there for those in need.  He died three years ago from a heart attack. 

 
Kathy Murphy--12/16/51-6/20/94
Kathy lost a 2 1/2 year fight with colon cancer.  We remember her as being an outstanding student, Girl First Citizen, Editor of the Islander and many accomplishments throughout her life.  Foir the past 13 years, the Class of 1969 has given the Kathy Murphy Scholarship to a deserving individual graduating from Coronado High School.  


Joy Robinson - Joy's family lived in Coronado for 3 generations.  Her grandfather started the La Avenida restaurant & motel, which was taken over by her mother, and eventually Joy.  Joy was a beautiful person who lived life to the fullest.  She died from complications of an accident which resulted in a spinal cord injury.  Both of her brothers, Denny and Don, died prematurely as well. Her daughter Jonya lives in San Diego.

Mike Rohan---died 1978

Dave Roberts---died May 17, 2008.  He held the position of President of the Senior Center from 2005-2006.  Dave was a free spirited man who had an infectious smile that made you happy to be around him.  I ran into him one day and he told me about his position with the Senior Center and how proud he was to be able to do this.  He died suddenly of a heart attack.  He is missed. 

Renee Smith---died 2005.  Memories of Renee are always close to my heart.  She was very involved in school activities and was a JV and Varsity  Cheerleader for CHS.  She had an infectious smile and warmth about her that all loved.   

Debbie Tracy---died 1978.  Debbie had an infectious smile that made anyone near her happy.  She died was too early from an automobile accident.

Dale Turner---died 1979.  Dale attended college in Flagstaff, Arizona.  He married Fay Salsig in 1973 and moved with her to Tucson.  He suicided in 1979 folllowing a year of intractable pain from a car accident.
